Today evening Chennai Apollo Hospital has issued a medical bulletin saying Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa suffered a cardiac arrest and is being treated now. She is being treated and monitored by a team of experts, including cardiologists, Pulmonologist and critical care specialists,” Chief Operating Officer and head of transformation of Apollo Hospital Dr Subbaiah Viswanathan said in the bulletin.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh has spoken to Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagar Rao to enquire about Jayalalitha’s health. Before the Apollo hospital medical bulletin, AIADMK claimed an AIIMS expert team had confirmed that she had completely recovered after over two months of hospitalisation.
Earlier party spokesperson C Ponnaiyan had claimed AIIMS doctors visited the hospital on Saturday and after examining her health, “shared the good news with us that Amma has completely recovered.”
The team, comprising Dr G Khilnani, Professor, Department of Pulmonology Medicine, Dr Anjan Trikha, Professor of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care and Dr Nitish Nayak, Professor, Department of Cardiology, has been visiting the hospital regularly ever since the 68-year-old AIADMK supremo was admitted on September 22.
