Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu cabinet expansion was planned for Dussehra. Chandrababu had postponed the cabinet expansion until completion of Local elections. Almost all the districts are going to face the Municipal elections. CM Chandrababu had set the target for the Ministers and local leaders. Chandrababu also promised to ministers and leaders, your performance will be taken from Municipal elections as criteria for the state cabinet expansion.
The government is planning to conduct the elections in the second half of December and directed the State Election Commission to start arrangements. 7 Municipal Corporations and 4 Municipalities which did not go for elections until now will have the elections. Vishakapatnam, Kakinada, Guntur, Ongole, Kurnool, Tirupati and Srikakulam are the Municipal Corporations. Rajam, Nellimerla, Kandukur, and Rajampeta are the municipalities that are going to face elections.These municipalities were spread across the state and so can be treated as Mini Election and will be a referendum of the TDP government. A massive sweep in the elections will snub the Opposition once and for all, clearing route to TDP to win 2019 elections.
